Inside Adam Savage's Cave: The Tool Boxes
News
Chris   September 24, 2012   1   0
Being on a show like Mythbusters it is pretty obvious that Adam Savage has a passion for making things. A person that makes things ranging from a small knick knack to a large catapult ultimately requires that he has a part for every situation and in every size. So with that many parts, how does he stay organized?

I really like to write about products that can help you be more organized, and this has a lot to do with how unorganized I can be. I know I am not the only one out there that has a row of long handled tools leaning up against the garage. Racor has come out with a new tool hook that they say is better and safer than the traditional tool hook.

When you are working with a lot of different tools on your workbench, it can become crowded pretty easily leaving little room for your actual project. Rockler has come up with a solution as simple as a tool tray that mounts under your workbench.

One of the keys to being efficient is proper tool organization. I am not just talking about keeping your tools organized while they are not in use, but also while they are in use. This desktop Tool Stand or Caddy from Keter looks like a simple way to keep your most often used tools organized and in easy reach.
Keter's Click Bins™

So I was perusing the Keter website the other day and came across their new Click Bin product. The Click Bin is similar to other stackable small parts bins on the market today, but what sets it apart is the ability to lock the bins together in stacks, kind of like the modular toolboxes from other manufacturers.

So I was looking at a Rockler email the other day and came across the Rev-a-Shelf Heavy-Duty Mixer Lift. I had probably seen the product before, but it wasn't until that moment that I realized that this mixer lift could be a great addition to the work shop. Just because it is made for the kitchen doesn't mean it can't have just as good a home out back.

If Tool Users Talked Like Photographers – LensRentals If you have ever visited a photography forum you have probably figured out pretty quickly that you are doing everything all wrong and that everyone else knows more than you. What if tool forums were the same way? A funny post at LensRentals shows us what it would be like if the elite photographer attitude was present in tool forums (sadly it is to some extent). You show up to work and start building, but little did you know that the day before there were people working behind the scenes changing the blueprints. Of course your work day started at 6AM, but you won't even know changes were made until the Suit calls you during your break just as he is starting his day.
