It looks like Makita has really started to build up their 12V lineup, this time with the new VJ01W 12V Max Cordless Jigsaw. The VJ01W has a feature I would have never expected to see on an ultra compact jigsaw, and that is a dust extraction port.

Every year as a child my brother and I were sent an advent calendar from our Grandparents so that would could countdown the days to Christmas. I am sure that many of you shared a similar experience and enjoyed counting down the days. But now you are older and opening little windows to look at funny pictures just isn't enough anymore. So let the kids have the funny calendar while you enjoy marking the days with your favorite beverage..

We all hate using the standard squeeze-grip style caulking gun - especially if the weather is cold and you can't get your goop to flow - but we don't really want to spend a fortune on getting a powered unit either. Thanks to Milwaukee we now have a third option with their new M12 ultra compact cordless caulk and adhesive.

It is always very impressive to me to see the homemade tools that people make; the more complex the tool, the more impressive it is to me. So you can imagine how excited I was to see that someone made a rather complex scroll saw out of wood and a bit of electronics.

It was two years ago when I first wrote about this new saw that offered so many new features and promised to save contractors time. The saw was the Straight Flush, and two years later it is almost ready to be a part of your tool arsenal.

Just in time to get one before Christmas, Makita came out with the new LXRM03B Cordless AM/FM Jobsite Radio. Unlike previous models that featured only a line-in for mp3 player connection, the new model features an actual iPod dock.

Cutting plastics is not really that difficult to do, but making clean cuts on plastics is. If you use the wrong blade you will end up chipping the plastic, melting the plastic along the cut line, or in some cases, you might do both. A new Plastic Range of jig saw blades from Bosch has been designed to take on the problem that come along with cutting plastics.

Silicone Glue application tools must be gaining in popularity. Rockler first started out with their basic Silicone Glue Brush early in the year, then just a few months ago they developed a full Silicone Glue Application kit; but the New Silicone Mini Glue Brush is what I was waiting for.

I don’t figure Mr. Bond, James Bond as much of a do-it-yourselfer, but I am guessing that if he was, he would feel the most comfortable using a powered driver like the WORX SD SemiAutomatic Driver. As you might have read in my article about it, or as you will soon see, it has a lot in common with the “tools“ of his trade.
