All of the major brands, and many of the smaller brands, have oscillation tools on the market, except for Makita. A few rumors have been circulating around the internet that Makita is coming out with something in 2012, possibly 18V cordless, but I have not heard anything official from Makita just yet. However, a recent patent discovery tells us that Makita is at least working on an oscillation tool, and it could have a universal blade mount.

Could this be the end of Sears as we know it? Every year 24/4 Wall St. puts together a list of 10 brands that they predict will not survive the next year. Unfortunately, number 5 on their list to go bye bye in 2012, is Sears. But don't start crying just yet, there might be some hope for Craftsman.

Stanley emailed out a survey today with questions regarding a possible new modular shelving system. From what I gathered from the survey, people can simply buy one of their 4-shelf (plastic) or 5-shelf (metal reinforced plastic) units from the system and use it alone, or combine it with the modular add-ons. The add-ons include Drawers, Doors and side panels that form a cabinet, and Storage bins. The system does not require tools to assemble, which makes the modular design even better. I am happy to see a Made In USA logo on the packaging, but these haven't hit stores...
