In addition to the two Cordless LED lights that Milwaukee has already come out with, which I reviewed here, they will be coming out with a pair of new M12 and M18 Cordless LED Lanterns. While the previous LED lights were great task lights, the new LED Lanterns will probably be better area lights.
The M12 (2362-20) and the M18 (2363-20) LED Lanterns feature a 180º-360º adjustable beam that allows users to switch from area lighting to task lighting, while a High/Low setting allows them to adjust the light output. Both models use high quality Trueview High Definition LEDs that they say deliver consistent light that will render colors correctly (most LEDs don’t).
The Milwaukee 2362-20 (M12) can deliver a light output of over 400 Lumens and the Milwaukee 2363-20 (M18) can deliver over 700 Lumens. On a single charge both lanterns can light up an area for up to 75 hours on Low and up to 9 hours on High. Additionally, each lantern is equipped with a 2.1A USB port that can be used to charge tablets and phones, making the Milwaukee LED Lanterns a great item for an emergency kit.
Designed to handle jobsite abuse, each model features an impact resistant housing and lens. If that wasn’t enough Milwaukee is backing the LEDs with a lifetime warranty.
Along with the LED Lanterns, Milwaukee will be introducing a new M18 LED Stick Light (2352-20), which is an upgraded version of the M12 Stick that came out last year. New features of the 2352-20 include a 45º forward and backward pivoting head, Trueview High Definition LEDs and High/Low output settings that delivers 300 or 150 Lumens of light.
All three models will be available October 2014.
