Woodpeckers Paolini Pocket Rule

As Gary pointed out the other day in his Quick Tip, a simple ruler can come in really handy on the jobsite and you probably have an old one from a combination square lying around somewhere. But is the Paolini Pocket Rule from Woodpeckers better solution?

The Paolini Pocket Rule is more than a ruler but still less than a combination square, and this might make it a better option for people that just want one tool to do the job of both. You see, the Paolini features an adjustable stop like you find on a combination square, double square, or even a rule stop, but unlike those, the Paolini stop is super easy to take apart and put back together. The stop on the Paolini rule also serves as a stand that allows the rule to stand on its edge; that, along with a vertical scale on one end, makes it handy for setting blade heights.

It is kind of hard to miss the bright red anodized aluminum rule with its high contrasting laser engraved markings, which is also a plus in my book. The Paolini Pocket Rule is available in 6, 8 or 12-inch lengths and is being offered as a one-time run. So if you want one, you will have to order now.
