Ready-made Birch Drawer Sides from Rockler

Rockler is taking some of the hassles out of adding a few drawers to your woodworking projects by getting some of the work out of the way for you. By offering drawer side stock in a variety of sizes, you no longer need to buy a full sheet of 1/2" plywood when you need to make a drawer or two.

Back when I was building the cabinets for my workshop I ended up using 3/4" baltic birch. Why? Because I didn't have any 1/2" plywood on hand and I wasn't about to purchase a full sheet just to make two drawers. This is why I like what Rockler is offering.

Their 1/2" birch drawer sides come in four-foot lengths and they offer 5 widths that range from 2-1/2" up to 10". Best of all, each drawer side comes with a 1/4" dado already pre-cut for you. All that is left for you to do it join the boxes using your preferred method and add a bottom panel.

Prices start at $6.99 for the 2-1/2" Wide x 4 Foot Long Birch Drawer Side and go up to $22.99 for the 10" Wide x 4 Foot Long Birch Drawer Side. The pricing seems reasonable to me if you are doing only a few drawers, but any more than that it probably makes more sense to buy a full sheet or maybe even a half sheet of 1/2" plywood. Rockler
