Milwaukee has announced that they are releasing a new cordless M18 Sawzall Reciprocating Saw (2621) with updated features and technology that will replace the aging model 2620. It has been a few years since the previous model came out, so the 2621 will bring the M18 Sawzall up to par with the rest of Milwaukee’s cordless tool line.
Milwaukee did recently come out with a Brushless M18 Sawzall (2720) that even puts some corded reciprocating saws to shame, and while the new 2621 shares many of the same features of the brushless model, I believe Milwaukee came out with the 2621 to be a less expensive option. But I wouldn’t be worried about saving a bit of cash on this saw, because according to Christian Coulis, Director of Marketing for Milwaukee Tool. “Other than the M18 FUEL SAWZALL that launched last year, no other cordless recip saw even comes close in cut speed and run time. We are proud to offer best in class solutions in both the brushed and brushless categories.”
The new Sawzall features a counter balance mechanism that reduces vibration, and is built with all metal gearing and gear case to ensure that it can handle jobsite abuse. Milwaukee slimmed down the design and improved ergonomics while making the saw only 8.9lbs and 19” long. Like all new Milwaukee tools, it features the Redlink intelligence system that protects the tool and the battery from overload protection.
M18 Sawzall Recip Saw (2621-22) is the kit, including a M18 Sawzall Recip Saw, (2) M18 REDLITHIUM XC Extended Capacity Battery Packs, (1) Multi-Voltage Charger & carrying case. The saw is also available with one battery (2621-21) and as a bare tool (2621-20).
