Bosch Introduces Their Lightweight SGH182 Brushless 18V Drywall Screwgun

Is this the year of cordless brushless drywall screwdrivers or what? Not long after the other brands announce their models, Bosch hits us with their very own. So what sets the Bosch SGH182 Screwgun apart from the rest? At 3.5lbs with a 4.0Ah battery, it is the lightest of the bunch, but it might also be the most powerful.

I can't really say for sure which is the most powerful without doing a side by side review, but Bosch says the SGH182 can drive up to 3400 screws on a single 4.0Ah battery charge; a number significantly higher than the claims made in their competitors press releases.

At 9.9 inches in length, the Bosch SGH182 is not the shortest of the bunch, but its narrow body makes it the slimmest and possibly most comfortable to use. The brushless screwdriver can be used with either hand thanks to its ambidextrous design and it features a forward/reverse control that can't be accidently switched.

Bosch SGH182 18V EC Brushless Screwgun Features:

  • Nosepiece doubles as a bit remover.
  • Exact depth setting even after nosepiece removal.
  • MA55 Auto-Feed Attachment compatible (sold separately).
  • Speed of 4200 RPM.
  • 221 in/lbs of torque.
  • Lock-on button
  • LED task light.

The Bosch SGH182 18V EC Brushless Screwgun will be available as a bare tool (SGH182B) for $249, and as a kit (SGH182-101) with a charger, 4.0Ah battery and a carrying bag for $349 - Amazon
