The field of oscillating tools continues to grown with another entry from Porter-Cable. They seem to be coming out with new models every year, and each time they add more features to make them even better. Let's take a look at what the new Porter-Cable PCE605K has to offer.
First, the biggest difference over the previous model is an upgrade from 2.5 amps to 3.0 amps, which evens up Porter-Cable with the other leading brands. The second big improvement is the one that really sets it apart from the rest. Feature wise, all of the brands have been playing catch up to the Original Fein multi-tool which came out a number of years ago. Porter-Cable was the first after Fein to offer the tool-less blade change feature, but they are now surpassing Fein with their new integrated depth-stop feature. With this feature you can set your desired cutting depth and move faster and make more accurate cuts without the worry of over cutting.
Porter-Cable also took to changing the outside appearance of their Oscillation tool and designed three specific gripping areas on the PCE605K. You now have more gripping areas to use on the tool and can match them to each application. It looks pretty sexy too.
Look for the Porter-Cable PCE605K this September for around $130. The kit will include 31 accessories including the new depth-stop cutting guide.
