New Jet 22-Inch Scroll Saw - Excalibur No More?

Jet recently announced a new scroll saw that features a "revolutionary blade change process", but the first thing that popped into my head was, "this looks a lot like an Excalibur Scroll Saw". After some internet sleuthing, I discovered that Excaliber Scroll Saws are no longer available. The unavailability of the Excaliber Scroll Saws might not be such a bad thing, though. From what I have seen, the Jet Scroll Saw has some pretty nice upgrades.

Jet has taken their popular 14” 1-3/4 HP bandsaw—which was introduced in 2013—and has come out with a new option with more power. The new Jet 3 HP 14” Bandsaw has all of the great features from the previous model, but now it has even more power.

If you are a serious woodworker or even an avid amateur, you probably have some form of dust collection for your shop tools. We all know that dust in the lungs is a bad thing, especially if the dust is from manufactured or composite woods. Dust collectors are good at keeping dust levels down in the workplace, except for when you need to clean them out. Those filters get blocked up with so much loose dust that when you remove them, the dust goes everywhere. You almost need an extra dust collector running when clean out your dust collector....
