Fastcap Square 'n' Tape – Eat Your Heart Out Swiss Army Knife - HomeFixated Chances are that if you are using a tape measure you probably are using a square as well. HomeFixated reviews a product that combines the two into one. Sound like it could be a time saver; though it probably wont fit in your tape measure pocket. The Original All-Terrain Table Saw - Tools Of The Trade Before manufacturers came out with table saws with built it wheeled stands, or even portable table saws, people that were...

Getting better organized is something that many of us battle with. One of the ways the professional shops do it is by having custom drawer liners made up. These liners are usually made out of some type of foam and they are custom cut using CNC machines to perfectly match the outline of your tools. Getting custom liners made is not something the average person is going to do, but FastCap has a product that makes it simple to get a custom fit at home.

Isn't Harbor Freight an amazing store? They have all of the small things that find myself needing and they are always at super low prices. Now, I never go into Harbor Freight expecting to get high quality tools that are anywhere close to contractor grade, but at their prices it is hard to complain about what you get. Harbor Freight is a good place to buy low-use tools. If you have a project that requires a mini grinder, but you don't plan on using it very much in the future, one of the Chinese brands will...

If you ask any woodworker to make a list of tools they need, high on their list you are sure to find clamps. It doesn't matter how many clamps a woodworker owns because at one point or another he will find out that he needs more. But it is not always about quantity, it is sometimes about size. That's why these adjustable clamps might be a nice addition to your shop.

Impact drivers are great at screwing in the largest of screws and even lag bolts, impacts are also really good at loosening screws that might have become stuck over the years. But what if you need to loosen a screw and you need little more "impact" and a little less "driver"? You use a hand powered impact driver.

Just last week I had to go inside the door panel on my Ford Explorer to try and figure out why the lock mechanism was no longer working and boy is it tight in there. Even though I could see where I needed to work with a flashlight, when it came to doing the actual work, my hand always seemed to cast a shadow. What I needed was hand tools with built in lights.

Update: Website and additional photos added.
Early next year Swanson Tools will be launching a new professional line of hand tools called Savage. Now I always figured Swanson tools were already for professionals, so I guess this new line of tools will be for more professional professionals, not just your everyday run of the mill professional.

I have always found that if your tools are easy to see, and each tool has its own place, then it is easier to spot a missing tool or one that is out of place. Not only does a system like this keep you better organized, but it many cases, it is more productive. Old sayings like "A place for everything and everything in its place" really do work.

It was a couple of years ago when I first wrote about the Veto Laptop bag, but somewhere down the road the bag was discontinued. Now Veto is back with two new versions of the laptop bag, and it looks like they made a few changes. From the outside, the bags look nearly identical to the regular Veto bags with slight changes to the handle and a now non-hook&loop shoulder strap that now uses a clip to stay in place. The Model LT bag is the smaller of the two and is pure laptop...
