Today DeWalt announced the brand new DWS780 12-inch sliding compound miter saw. The saw does look very similar to the older DW718 miters saw, and if you compare the two carefully you will notice that some parts are mirrored. I have had a few days of use with the older model saw, but it was years ago and I hardly remember if it had any design flaws. Because the saws are so similar looking, there were probably only minor changes made to the saw, but having not used the new DWS780 it is impossible to say...

We briefly mentioned DeWALT's new adjustable wrenches when we covered the announcement that DeWALT would now be making hand tools, but we didn't have any information other then the price range of $10.99 to $34.99. Today DeWALT let the rest of the cat out of the bag and gave us a full press release. The wrenches will be available in five sizes (6", 8", 10", 12", 15") and features a black DeWALT Tough Coat™ magnesium phosphate finish that is said to help prevent chipping and also provides a no-slip surface. The wrenches also feature an increased...

When Black & Decker merged with Stanley we knew there would be some changes, but we had no idea Stanley, which is known for their hand tools, would be all but replaced by first Bostitch, and now DeWalt. But in fact the news is true; the DeWalt name will soon be found on a number of hand tools. DeWalt and hand tools just seems odd to me, but I am sure B&D has a plan. I guess it would help DeWalt if their yellow tools out numbered the other tools in one's tool bag; after all,...

ToolsInAction has the scoop on what is possibly the new 20V Max lithium-ion line from DeWalt. They somehow got a hold of a flyer that pictures what appears to be a new line that will be released later this year. I believe DeWalt announced their 12V line back in June of last year, so if they are following the same timeline, we have a few more months to wait. The flyer shows 3 drills, 2 impacts, a reciprocating saw, and a circular saw. The new line looks a lot like their 12V line, and uses a...

Are you tired of being told you can only cut up or down with your reciprocating saw? Most reciprocating saws use a blade clamping system that allows the blade to be inserted facing up, or more commonly, facing down. This simple feature lets users better position the saw so that the handle is out of the way when cutting up to a wall or to the floor. DeWalt doesn't seem to think 2 positions is enough for some users and has a saw with four blade clamping positions. These additional positions really come in handy when...
