A good circular saw
Started looking at circular saws when my Skil saw went south. Considered Hitachi, Porter-Cable, De Walt & Bosch. I have several other Bosch power tools. And with the exception of a few of them, I've been satisfied with their quality, construction and capabilities. All of the circular saws I looked at each had their strong points, but the Bosch won me over because of its weight and ergonomics. It's a very light weight saw and the controls and gripping surfaces are all comfortable and easy to use. That being said, if the saw didn't actually pass the on-the-job tests after getting it home, I wouldn't have had any hesitation on returning it for another brand. Didn't have to do that though because it turned out to be a great saw.
The only potential drawback with the saw for some people might be the fact that it doesn't come with a cord. The saw's configured with a female socket w/ a spring clip that accepts a 12 AWG power cord. This isn't a problem for me because I've got a Bosch reciprocation saw with the same configuration.
