Measure Easier With The Tape-Ease Rubber Grip

Tape-Ease is a new product that wants to eliminate the problem of your tape measure coming unhooked when you are trying to measure the lengths of jobsite materials. It is a rubber grip that slips onto your existing tape measure and gives it more hooking power.

The tape measure is one of the most invaluable tools on a jobsite, but sometimes it can be a pain in the butt to try and measure the lengths of jobsite materials when your hook is not cooperating. Manufacturers have tried to solve this problem by making the hooks bigger, but even they slip off. Tape-Ease thinks the real solution is their patented rubber grip. Slipping the Tape-Ease onto your existing 1-inch tape measure not only gives it a larger hooking surface, but the rubber grip ensures that it doesn't slip off of smooth surfaces.

Tape-Ease also makes a Pipe Grip model that easily hooks onto small to large pipe, conduit, corrugated steel and more.

At only $3.99 for the Rubber Grip and $2.99 for the Pipe Grip, they both seem reasonable priced replacements for what could have been a two man job. Though I think with a product like this, you will lose some accuracy in your measurements. – Tape-Ease

Update: I suggested that you might lose accuracy with the addition of the Tape-Ease to your tape measure, but Tape-Ease disagrees. Here is their response: "The truth is, the Tape-Ease Rubber Grip is accurate to within 1/32 of an inch—and most tape measures only show increments of 1/16 of an inch." They have also offered to send me their Tape-Ease so I can test it out for myself.
