It was only a few months ago that Makita’s 4.0Ah (BL1840) 18V batteries came out, and I wondered then, how long it would be until their highly anticipated 5.0Ah (BL1850) would follow. It turns out the wait will not be long at all, as the Makita BL1850 are set to come out in December 2014.
The new Makita batteries are said to provide 65% more run-time than the Makita 3.0Ah batteries, yet only take a mere 45-minture to reach a full charge. In comparison, their competitor’s batteries take about 1.5 hours to reach a full charge.
Along with the news of the new 5.0Ah battery, comes news of a new of a new XPH07T kit that comes with the 5.0Ah battery. The XPH07 is Makita’s newest Brushless ½" Hammer Driver-Drill, which packs a whopping 1,090 in. lbs. of torque. The new XPH07T kit will also be available in December 2014
