DEWALT Announces 40V Battery-Powered Outdoor Equipment For 2015

Recently, at the GIE Expo, DeWalt announced that in March of 2015 they will be coming out with a new line of 40V Max Outdoor Power Tools. The Line will consist of both 4.0Ah and 6.0Ah 40V Max Brushless String Trimmers, Brushless Blowers and they will even have a Hedge Trimmer available.

The DCST990 40V Max Brushless String Trimmer comes with either the 4.0 Ah Lithium Ion battery or the 6.0 Ah Lithium Ion battery for 50 % more battery capacity. With a patented gear drive, the Cordless String Trimmer offers greater torque and maintains cut speed under load. A variable speed trigger gives the user control over speed and runtime while a padded auxiliary handle offers comfort for long use. The trimmer features a 15-Inch cut swath and a dual-line bump feed head.

The DCBL790 Brushless Blower also has the 4.0Ah and 6.0Ah battery option and delivers as much as 400 CFM of air volume at up to 120 MPH for fast, reliable outdoor cleanup. A variable speed trigger give the user complete control, while a speed lock enables the user to run the tool without having to hold the trigger during use. Since it is electric, it is much quieter to operate, which makes ideal for use in noise restricted areas.

The DCHT860 40V Max Hedge Trimmer is available with a 4.0Ah battery and features a powerful motor equipped with a friction clutch that they say offers lasting durability. The 40V Max Cordless Hedge Trimmer can also be used a 6.0 Ah Lithium Ion battery for greater run-time. Their 22” bade utilizes laser-cut, hardened steel blades that provide long blade life and precise cuts with up to a ¾” cutting capacity.

DeWalt also says they have a 30-minute charger coming out soon, which should be a welcomed addition.
