Bosch is taking laser measuring to the next level with the introduction of their GLM 100 C Laser Distance Measure, available next month. Not only is it packed with measuring and storage features, but it can sync with iOS and Anrdoid devices to extend its functionality.
As a just laser measurer the GLM 100 C is already amazing. It has all the features we have come to expect from a good laser measurer, like the ability to measure distance, area, and volume. But what makes it a great laser measurer is its ability to also measure angles, indirect lengths, multi-surface measurements, combined indirect heights and more.
But still the GLM 100 C can do much more. Paired with the Bosch Measurement app using Bluetooth, you have the ability to read, save & manage your measurements, and even control the device itself. If you are in a hard to reach area, you can use your smartphone as a remote to capture measurements.
But wait, there's more. Using your smartphone, you can take a photo of the jobsite and superimpose measurements from the laser measurer right on the photo. You can then save these measurements for when you return to the office, or email them off to the project engineer. Bosch also says you can use the included USB cable to transfer your information to your personal computer. While the GLM 100 C is plugged into a PC, the USB cable is doing double duty buy charging the internal Lithium-ion battery.

Is this just the beginning of smarter tools that can be paired with your smartphone? What other tools would you want to see with this functionality?
