Mac Tools Introduces Cordless LED Magnetic Worklight

Mac Tools knows a thing or two about what automotive workers need to help them get the job done. One of those things they need is light, but working in a brightly lit shop is not always an option. To get the light where it needs to be even when you are away from the shop, Mac Tools has come out with a new cordless magnetic rubberized LED worklight.

The first thing I thought about when hearing about this light is that it probably uses some large battery pack that is proprietary to Mac Tools, but thankfully that is not the case. The new TL98268 uses a regular 3.6V lithium-ion battery pack that fits inside of the light. The TL98268 is shaped similarly to a flashlight and has a flashlight function, but for work you want to take advantage of the wide beam mode that uses 3x 1-watt LED to output 200 lumens of light on high, or 100 lumens on low and offers about 3 hours of runtime. In flashlight mode the light can run for up to 8 hours and puts out 65 lumens of light. The base of the light features a magnet which allows it to be attached to a hood, or other metal objects. A fully sealed on/off switch along with the polycarbonate housing protects the light from water, dirt, and other shop grime.

The TL98268 comes with 2 rechargeable 3.6V Li-ion battery packs, an UL AC wall charger, and a 12V power outlet charger. The listing price on the Mac Tools website is $129.99.
