For those of you looking for a phone that won't break at first glance of a construction site, Samsung is bringing a more rugged version of the Galaxy S7 to AT&T. The Galaxy S7 Active has all the premium internals of the regular S7, like a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 12MP rear camera, a fingerprint sensor, a MicroSD card slot, NFC, wireless charging, and a 5.1-inch quad HD screen, but it gets some major changes to its externals that allow it to handle a more active environment.

It is easier than ever to find great cordless power tools no matter the brand, so to set your company apart from the rest you need to think outside the box. DeWalt may have done just that with their new line of Bluetooth enabled 20V MAX 2.0 Amp (DCB203BT) and 4.0 Amp (DCB204BT) lithium ion batteries. Of course, Bluetooth by itself is pointless, which is why DeWalt has introduced their Tool Connect App, which allows users to control their new batteries with their smartphone.

Seek made it affordable by making it an accessory to smartphones, but how well does it really work?

Literally, if you took all of the products Bosch Germany announced the other day and multiplied them by X, they would surly weigh a ton or more. There are so many tools I don't know where to start—how do tools that talk to your smart phone sound?

Every day it seems some new app comes out that makes smartphones even smarter. They are used to solve many problems people come across throughout the day, soon we will be able to add laser measuring to that list. A new smartphone app is being developed by Andrew Leyden called Phaser Tape that uses a separate laser module to deliver surprisingly accurate measurements. The app works by using the lasers from the module and the phone's built in camera to determine the correct distance. The Phaser Tape offers a measuring distance of between 30 - 50 feet...

Smart phones are not only really popular, it seems like everyone and their Grandma owns one (except me), but they are also super handy to have around. With the almost limitless number of apps available to us, these once business only phones have now become popular tools among tradesman, and can be found on every jobsite around the Country. There is one problem though, these high priced smart phones are not really designed to handle the toils of everyday construction use. My Friend and his BB phone know this all to well. After a number of...

Have you ever found yourself wanting more information while reading the packaging on a tool? Having the most information sure makes your choosing the right tool a lot easier, but there is only so much one can fit onto the packaging. The smaller the package, the less information we get. Johnson Level is changing all if this with the addition of QR codes on their product packaging. QR codes are similar in function to barcodes and contain small bits of information. These codes can be scanned with most of the newer smart phones by simply installing a...
